This will be the last update for this year and pretty much the last update
in this style as i will come up with a ‘real’ website soon ;) .... but 1st
things 1st ;-)
BENNY RODRIGUES TAKES A TIME-OUT!
Yep, i deciced to take a small ‘sabbatical’ in the first 3 months of 2010,
wich means i will do NOT 1 single gig during January, February & March 2010!
Sometimes it’s good to reflect on yourself and ask yourself some serious
questions about your career and life. In order to do so i think it’s
important to stap away from that same (hectic!) career and life so the
thinking can be done as properly as possible....well, that’s what i’m about
to do! :-)
Obviously i will start doing the gigs again from april 2010 on so hopefully
i’ll see you there again!
NEW RELEASE: BENNY RODRIGUES- WOEST EP (FIGURE)
My latest release is one for the real tech-headz ;) as it contains 2 Chicago
Techno stompers (Woest + Zomaar) + the more tech-house orientaded Fake Stab
(with Kapuchon).
I’m really happy to have this record released on Len Faki’s Figure Records
as i really appreciate Len Faki’s music and his great label!
Offical release-info:
Cat: Figure 0236
Releasedate: 4-11-2009
Rotterdams Benny Rodrigues is already a well known force in the dutch techno
fraternity. His releases on Be As One and Spinclub have cemented his tough,
modern- meets old school take on dancefloor techno as some of the grooviest
around. Fake Stab , co-produced with Kapuchon, is a pacy roller that
revolves around classic detroit-influenced stab action, floating on top of a
bass heavy and pumping bottom end. Tight, crisp and clearly designed for the
floor, its a cool trip full of tricky percussion and immense bass pressure (what
else would you expect from Figure!) Taking us back into the realms of the
masters, Woest is a real burner. Tough, raw and uncompromising, its a
stomping stab-jack like no other. Reminiscent of a certain Mr Hood s punchy
warehouse jams, its filled with the type of purist techno intensity that
makes it totally irresistible in the club and beyond. Lastly the tripping,
warping tones of Zomaar greet us with tough, loosely locked beats and
building, freaking vibes…

NEW REMIXES: JUSTICE VS DJ PIERRE- STRESS (AFRO ACID)
Oh yeah, this summer i’ve been working on some HUGE remix-requests and
‘Justice vs DJ Pierre- Stress’ was of of them :)
DJ Pierre (the LEGEND DJ Pierre that is ;) approached me to remix his take
on Justice- Stress (to be released on his Afro Acid label) and well....i
started working like crazy to get the job done....and so i did!
After my 1st remix (Benny Rodrigues Rotterdam Paris Chicago Mix) got
approved i decided to do a 2nd remix wich would be more ‘clubby’ as the 1st
remix is pretty ‘Chicago-Banging Techno’ so after finishing the 2nd remix
(Benny Rodrigues Twitter Alarm Dub Mix) DJ Pierre went crazy (quote DJ
Pierre: That last mix you sent over was just Bananas!!! The best mix of the
lot!) and yeah....now i’m not releasing 1 but 2 remixes of ‘Justice VS DJ
Pierre- Stress’! :-)
Afro Acid Corner
Not all Stress is bad...it can be justified! After a well
needed break cutting edge label AFRO ACID, the brainchild of DJ PIERRE, is
back with a promise to work us into a stress frenzy with the re-work of
“Stress” originally released by super group Justice. DJ Pierre’s version
“Stress or Justice”, is followed by the interpretations of a talented bunch
of re-mixers (including: Benny Rodrigues, James Ruskin, Angel Alanis a.o!)
asking the listener through pulsating beats and melodic breaks…when is
outrage validated? Is acting out good or bad? Is a sudden two minute scream
followed by a sigh and a smile allowed? When is stress justified! Whew!
Necessary questions for those who need that outlet! So scream with me…not
all stress is baaad! Here we go! Afro Acid Crew
Release Date on Beatport:
16th of December
well, it’s out on Beatport right about....NOW!
Just in case you don’t know the original Justice- Stress track....well, here
